NEPSE strategy research
Systematic strategies for Nepal's stock market, proven on the data.
Nhuga turns market analysis into rule-based strategies, then back-tests every one across a decade of NEPSE prices — net of costs, judged on return, risk and drawdown. Research you can inspect, not tips you have to trust.

The workspace
Test it. Code it. Practise it.
Our strategies are only the start. Open the same tools we use, to back-test your own ideas, write them as code with an AI helper, and rehearse them with virtual money.
Illustrations are examples, not results. Paper trading uses virtual money. Nothing here is investment advice.
Methodology
Analysis is the input. A tested strategy is the output.
Most market commentary stops at an opinion. We keep going — until the opinion is a rule, and the rule has a measured track record.
- 01
Read the market
Our proprietary analytics measure what the market is doing — regime, trend quality and risk — for individual stocks and for the index itself.
- Inputs
- Regime · trend quality · volatility
- Universe
- 180+ instruments, 13 sectors
- 02
Write the rules
Those readings become a fixed rule set: exactly when a strategy holds a position and exactly when it steps aside. No discretion, no hindsight edits.
- Entry / exit
- Defined before the test runs
- Style
- Trend, mean-reversion, multi-factor
- 03
Back-test, then publish
Every rule set runs over the full price history, net of transaction costs. We publish the result whatever it says — drawdown included.
- Measured
- CAGR · Sharpe · max drawdown · win rate
- History
- 10+ years of daily data
Track record
Every strategy, measured on the same scale. The weak ones too.
Below is the live output of our back-test engine — not a curated highlight reel. Pick any strategy to see its equity curve and risk. Results are ranked by return, and we leave the bottom of the list visible.

Back-tests run on NEPSE end-of-day data; prices are not adjusted for bonus shares. Returns are net of transaction costs. Past performance is not indicative of future results, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
Our position
A research desk, not a signal provider.
The market is loud with predictions. We take the opposite posture: measure, model, and publish only what we can show the numbers for.
What Nhuga is
- Rule-based strategies with every parameter fixed before testing
- Back-tests over 10+ years, net of transaction costs
- Risk shown beside return — drawdown, Sharpe, win rate
- Weak results published next to strong ones
- Written research that explains the reasoning
What it isn't
- “Buy here, sell here” calls or price targets
- A signal service or a Telegram tipster
- An RSI-and-EMA crossover with a confident voice
- Cherry-picked winners or back-fitted curves
- Licensed investment advice

FAQ
Straight answers.
What our data is, how the method works, and what Nhuga is — and isn't.
Nhuga is a research and analytics platform for the Nepal Stock Exchange. We build systematic strategies from our own analytics and test them on real market data. We are market analysts — not a signal service.
No. We don't say "buy here, sell here." We don't publish price targets or hype. What we do is design rule-based strategies, measure how they behave through real market cycles, and share that research so you can make your own informed decisions.
Our analytics — market regime, trend quality, and risk — define a precise rule set: when a strategy holds a position and when it steps aside. Those rules are then back-tested over years of NEPSE end-of-day data, net of transaction costs, and judged on drawdown and risk-adjusted return, not just headline gains.
Yes. Every CAGR, Sharpe ratio, drawdown and equity curve on this site is computed from actual NEPSE price history by the same engine that powers the platform. Weak results are shown alongside strong ones. Prices are unadjusted for bonus shares, and back-tests are not a guarantee of future performance.
The chart lets you draw, add indicators and run any strategy over our full price history. The Pine editor lets you write your own rules in Pine Script v5, the language TradingView uses. Nhuga AI (beta) turns an idea written in plain words into Pine code and checks that it runs. It can make mistakes, so always check the results. It helps you write code. It does not tell you what to buy or sell.
No. Paper trading uses virtual cash on live NEPSE prices, with realistic fees, T+2 settlement and daily price limits, so you can practise before you risk real rupees. Nothing is bought or sold on the exchange.
No. Nhuga provides research and analytics for your own analysis. We are not licensed investment advisors, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
